Convert Addon Domain to Account in WHM, Managing multiple websites efficiently is essential, and Addon Domains in cPanel allow this under a single account. When more independence is needed, WHM’s “Convert Addon Domain to Account” feature lets you transform an addon domain into a standalone cPanel account for better management of databases, emails, and settings.

Understanding Addon Domains

An Addon Domain is a domain that can be added to a primary cPanel account, allowing users to manage multiple websites from a single cPanel interface. Each addon domain has its own directory (or document root) where its files are stored, similar to how the primary domain uses the public_html folder. This setup is beneficial for users who want to host several websites without needing separate hosting accounts for each one.

The “Convert Addon Domain to Account” Feature

The “Convert Addon Domain to Account” feature in WHM (Web Host Manager) allows you to transform an addon domain into a standalone cPanel account. This transition provides the new account with greater autonomy, enabling independent database creation, FTP account management, and controlled SSH access.
